Hello!

I am an Assistant Professor in Chinese Studies at University College Dublin. I received my PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2024.

My research interests are second language acquisition, theoretical syntax and language evolution.

Since 2014, I have been teaching Chinese language and culture at Tsinghua University, London School of Economics, University of Greenwich and Cambridge University.

I was a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) producer and developer. I produced dozens of MOOCs, one of them being the award-winning online Mandarin course Tsinghua Chinese: Start talking with 1.3 billion people.

I am founder and editor of 语言学午餐Ling-Lunch, the most well-known linguistics WeChat public account in China.

I am brown belt in Japan Karate Association. See some competition results here.
